Dallas County — Recent Arrests (Last 24 / 72 Hours)
If someone you care about might be in custody, the first hours are confusing and painful.
This page shows exactly where to look, what to write down, and who to call — using official government sites only. Move step by step and save every booking number and date.
Critical starting point — Dallas County Jail Lookup
Start here. The jail lookup is the official booking listing for county custody — it shows who was booked and when.
Use the booking date filters to limit results to the last 24 or 72 hours. If the person is in county custody, you will find the booking number and custody status here.
Open: https://www.dallascounty.org/jaillookup/
Exact steps — last 24 hours
- Open the jail lookup link above.
- Find Booking From / Booking To (or Booking Date) fields.
- Set Booking From to 24 hours ago and Booking To to now.
- Leave name blank to view all recent bookings, or enter a last name to narrow results.
- Run the search and scan results for booking times and names.
Exact steps — last 72 hours
- Set Booking From to three days earlier, Booking To to today.
- Run the search and look for repeats or re-bookings.
- Note every booking number and timestamp for the person you’re checking.
Write down these facts now — do not skip
When you find a match, copy these exactly:
- Full name (exact spelling)
- Booking number
- Booking date & time
- Facility/housing location
Take a screenshot and write these down. You’ll need them for the sheriff line, police reports, and court searches.
Confirm with the Sheriff — bond, visitation, phone numbers
The Sheriff’s Inmate Information page tells you how to post bond, visitation hours, how to send money, and the phone numbers to confirm custody.
Call the number shown to confirm a same-day update — people bond out or transfer quickly.
Open: https://www.dallascounty.org/departments/sheriff/inmate-information/
- Call the jail information number on the sheriff page and give the booking number.
- Ask: current custody status, bond amount, visitation rules, and commissary deposit method.
- If you must post bond, ask exactly which bondsmen or methods the jail accepts.
Get the police report — the incident details
The jail list shows a booking. The police report explains what happened. Use the Dallas Police Records page to request the report or get the incident/case number. Reports may carry a small fee.
Open: https://www.dallaspolice.net/
- Find Records or Public Information on the Dallas Police site.
- Use name, booking date, or incident number to request the report.
- Expect a processing time and a nominal fee for official copies.
Check court records — charges, hearing dates, case numbers
Court records show whether charges were filed and list hearings. Use the county’s official record search to find criminal cases and upcoming dates. :contentReference[oaicite:3]{index=3}
Open: https://www.dallascounty.org/services/record-search/
- Search by full name or booking number.
- If a case appears, copy the case number and the next court date immediately.
- If you need filings or certified records, use the District Clerk services for official documents. (District Clerk link below.)
If a court date is listed, put it on your calendar. Missing it can cause a warrant or other serious consequences.
District Clerk and County Clerk — where to get official copies
For felony case documents and certified criminal records, use the District Clerk.
For misdemeanor records, and for certified public documents, use the County Clerk. Both offices will tell you how to order certified copies and the fees involved.

Municipal Court & citation checks (City of Dallas)
If an arrest began with a city citation or a municipal offense, check the City of Dallas Municipal Court citation and docket search for citation status and fine payment options.
Municipal pages often list citations before county dockets update.
Open: Dallas Municipal Court — Citation & Docket Search
If the person disappears from county lists — check state records
If the county list no longer shows the person, they may have bonded out, been released, or transferred to state custody.
Use the Texas Department of Criminal Justice inmate search to confirm state placement.
Open: TDCJ Offender Search
- Search by full name and date of birth.
- If a TDCJ record appears, copy the TDCJ number, unit, and projected release date.
Warrants and wanted checks — call or visit Sheriff / Clerk
Arrest aggregator pages do not reliably list active warrants. For warrant checks, call the Sheriff’s Office or the County Clerk.
Some warrant lists are not posted online and are only confirmed by phone or in person.
- Call the Sheriff’s non-emergency number and ask for a warrant check — give full name and DOB.
- If needed, visit the County Clerk’s office to request warrant information or certified documents in person.
Practical checklist — copy and use
- Open Dallas County Jail Lookup — set 24 / 72 hour range — run search.
- Copy full name, booking number, booking date/time, facility.
- Call Sheriff’s inmate info line to confirm and get bond amount.
- Request police report from Dallas Police if you need incident facts.
- Search county record portal for case and court date.
- If not on county lists, check TDCJ for state custody.
